Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Maipo Chile

Bringing color
& vibrancy
to Chilean wine

Born of the encounter between the Chilean terroir and Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s expertise, Anderra is a new range of Chilean wines originating from the foothills of the Andes mountains, the source of South America’s finest wines. There are three varietal wines in the range, a Sauvignon Blanc, a Carmenere and a Cabernet Sauvignon.

The artful combination of “ANDes”, the iconic mountain range, and “tiERRA”, the Chilean terroir, the name Anderra is both a symbol and an invitation on a journey.

An exceptional climate

Chile enjoys a unique geographical location. The natural barriers of the Andes
and the coastal mountain range which separates the valleys from the sea,
and the vast expanses of desert to the north and south protect the vineyards
from  pests.

It is thanks to this isolation that Chile benefits from an exceptional microclimate
ideal for wine-growing, with acid soils nourished by meltwater from the Andes,
generous sunshine and a refreshing sea breeze.

The Andes, as far
as the eye can see

The Andes Moutains act as a protective barrier for the Chilean vineyard.
It is in these foothills that one of the most active winegrowing
regions in the southern hemisphere has emerged.

Winegrowing has expanded here at an astonishing pace over the
last 20 years. Chilean wines, appreciated worldwide, are rooted
in tradition dating back more than four centuries.

A Franco-Chilean

Located at Buin-Maipo, 45 kilometers to the south of Santiago in the famous Maipo Valley,
the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile winery serves at the heart of this exceptional terroir.

Its sober and elegant wood and steel architecture reflects the desire to combine
the latest technology with the great Bordeaux winemaking tradition.

The wines are made, matured, bottled and packaged at the winery under the supervision
of a French winemaker and under the control of an in-house laboratory.

A rigorous selection

In the valley, the Baron Philippe de Rothschild bodega owns many acres of its own vines
and has long-term contracts with local winegrowers to ensure a regular supply
of high-quality grapes.

In this way, the story of men and women who, for many years, have made it possible
to produce high-quality wines in Chile continues to be written.

The quest
for perfection

« Anderra has a strong identity. At Baron Philippe de Rothschild,
the creation of a new wine always has a dual aim: to achieve
outstanding quality with a specific identity. Our style of winemaking
is in a class of its own, because we produce wines with a Chilean
identity and expression, but in a thoroughly French style that aims
to highlight the nobility of the product.»

Emmanuel Riffaud, winemaker of the Baron Philippe de Rothschild  Maipo Chile winery.

The encounter between
terroir and know-how

Anderra is a new range of Chilean wines,
produced in the foothills of the Andes.

The result of several years of research, identifying the best parcels
and developing the product, Baron Philippe de Rothschild now produce three

with fruit-driven intensity, the Carmenere is structured, with distinctive
aromas and flavors, while the Cabernet Sauvignon is more complex
and concentrated, with a long finish.
